Job Title: Clinical Lead

Location: Brazoria and Galveston counties

FLSA Status: Exempt

Working Status: Full Time with Benefits

Summary:

Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services, the Clinical Lead oversees and supervises licensed clinicians and assigned department support staff. In addition, the Clinical Lead supports staff in the clinical assessment process. Core responsibilities include clinical and administrative supervision of licensed clinicians, assistance with program development and implementation, attendance at meetings within and outside the agency, help to manage day-to-day site functions, active collaboration with other community agencies, and other duties as assigned and needed.

Job Duties: (To be performed with or without accommodation as based on ADA requirements)

Clinical Lead: Programmatic Supervision, Training, and Accountability

  • Provide individual and group supervision to behavioral health staff to ensure quality therapeutic and case management services and service hours are met.
  • Review caseload assignments with supervisees weekly or bi-weekly to assign and maintain full caseloads.
  • Proactively evaluate individual and overall team performance regularly and continuously; use collected data and information to make needed improvements, including adjustments as necessary to behavioral health staff caseloads and work assignments to maximize quality of care and staff productivity.
  • Complete monthly Chart Audits for all supervised staff. Review electronic case records and documentation for completeness, consistency, and quality of mental health services, including applying proper techniques and appropriateness of therapeutic modalities.
  • Review and approve person-centered recovery plans to ensure alignment with clinical best practices, compliance standards, and each individual's unique needs and goals.
  • Provide and coordinate ongoing training to ensure quality clinical documentation.
  • Effectively communicate program, administrative, and clinical expectations and policies/procedures to supervisees and ensure compliance with state and federal mandates.
  • Provide effective case consultations to increase the quality of care.
  • Implement new hire onboarding and training with support from the Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services and the leadership team.
  • Support staff development through the creation of an annual plan that includes staff training to ensure quality and effective therapeutic service delivery.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and proactively identify and develop plans for ongoing improvement.
  • Consult with the Senior Director of Behavioral Health Services and HR concerning employee and work problems.
  • Provide input on mandatory and discretionary training per contract requirements.
  • Keep abreast of best practices in providing community mental health.
  • Conduct comprehensive intakes/assessments, including a psychosocial diagnostic assessment addressing numerous life domains, utilizing interviews, collateral contacts, available clinical records, observations, and verified screening tools that support best practices.
  • Participate and provide input on service and program improvements during Behavioral Health Program Leadership Meetings
  • Will be responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the agency compliance policy and will require communication with various departments to foster, develop and continue our community partnerships as it relates to the position.

  • Interact with staff, consumers, local entities and advocacy groups to provide a service that meets local needs.
  • Provide highest level of Customer Service for both internal and external customers.
  • Required to report personnel leave; flex time and emergency leave to assigned supervisor.

  • Consistent adherence to the Center's Dress Code.
  • Consistent adherence to Center safety guidelines and expectations.
  • May be required to travel within Brazoria and Galveston Counties.
  • Out of region travel may be required to attend trainings.
  • Must maintain a clear driving record and driver's license in accordance with our Driver Policy.
  • Requires current Texas Driver's License, reliable transportation and must maintain current auto liability insurance.

Supervision:

  • Receives direct supervision from Director of Behavioral Health Services

Required Education:

  • Requires a master's degree from an accredited college or university, specializing in psychology, mental health counseling, social services, or business administration.

Required Education/Licensure/Certifications:

  • Clinically Licensed in the state of Texas in mental health counseling field or social work.

Preferred Licensure/Certifications:

  • Licensed clinical supervisor as an LPC-S or an LCSW-S.

Required Experience:

  • Three years of related mental health experience is required.
  • Work experience related to leadership and supervision of staff is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Four to five years full-time experience in human services field.
  • Program management

Working Conditions:

  • Work will be performed in the Office, Field and/or Remotely setting(s).
  • May require varied work hours depending on need of clients.
  • Out of region travel may be required to attend trainings.
  • May require travel to various locations within Brazoria and Galveston Counties. Requires current Texas Driver's License, reliable transportation safe and current with all state requirements, and liability insurance.

Special Projects:

  • Assist supervisor when requested to complete special projects and complete all assignments within a time frame negotiated with the supervisor. Completion of other duties as assigned by supervisor as it relates to the program and position.
